About the Historic Heath Farm Initiative
In November 2022, voters approved Proposition 2 to purchase over 300 acres of farmland & open space in Glenmont and Selkirk.
Now this land will continue to be available for farming, passive recreation and open space for generations to come!

Leased by Stanton Farms, a 6th generation dairy farm
The Structures

253 Clapper Road, Selkirk
The yellow farmhouse located on Clapper Road has both local historical and architectural significance.

28 Heath Road, Selkirk
This small bungalow is located at the end of Heath Drive adjacent to I-87. The house has no local historical or architectural significance.

Barn & Silo, Route 9W & Wemple Road, Glenmont
The former Heath Farm dairy operation included a bottling facility, a milking parlor (with a visitor observation window), farm store and fresh milk delivery service. The barn and silo have local historical and architectural significance. The Town’s intent is to preserve the barn and silo.
Work Completed To Date
Work Completed by Town Staff:
Old hay, debris, dead trees and overgrown vegetation removed
Structures secured
Collapsed maintenance building & debris removed
Town staff worked with the NYS Department of Labor and a private contractor to complete asbestos mitigation for collapsed maintenance addition.
Setting the Stage Community Visioning:
The Town has been consulting with expert organizations in the fields of agriculture, land conservation, outdoor recreation, and veteran services.
Collectively, we have begun to explore ideas that have the potential to build strategic partnerships, attract and leverage funding, and deliver real benefits on critical issues at the nexus of agriculture, environment, and community.
